Soopa järjestää talviretken Martimoaavan soidensuojelualueelle 16. -18.2. Retki on hiihtoretki. Olitpa sitten kokenut talvivaeltaja tai ensimmäistä kertaa hiihtoretkellä olet tervetullut mukaan! Matka taitetaan bussilla ja lähtö tapahtuu perjantaina 16.2. yliopistolta klo 16. Paluu yliopistolle tapahtuu sunnuntaina iltapäivästä/illasta.
Martimoaapa on tasainen suo- ja metsäalue, mistä löytyy myös korkeampia kohtia. Ripeimmät hiihtäjät saattavat ehtiä kiivetä Keski-Penikan laelle. Yövymme teltoissa, mutta alueella on myös useampi autiotupa, mitkä ovat mahdollisuuksien mukaan käytettävissä. Viikonloppuretki on hyvä tilaisuus kokeilla talvella vaeltamista esimerkiksi pidempiä kaamos- tai pääsiäisvaelluksia varten.
Retki toteutetaan pienemmissä ryhmissä, niin että jokaisessa ryhmässä on myös kokeneempia vaeltajia. Ryhmät päättävät itse reittinsä ja kuinka toteuttavat ruokailut. Soopa lainaa vaellukselle jokaiselle ryhmälle teltat ja lapion. Vaellus toteutetaan hiihtäen eli tarvitset umpihankihiihtoon soveltuvat sukset (metsä-/tunturisukset) ja saappaat. Voit valintasi mukaan käyttää ahkiota tai rinkkaa.
Retken hinta on 30€, minkä lisäksi jokaisen osallistujan tulee olla Soopan jäseniä ja maksaa vuoden 2024 jäsenmaksu, mikäli sitä ei ole vielä tänä vuonna maksanut. Retkelle osallistujien on mahdollista vuokrata Soopalta sukset, sauvat ja saappaat vaelluksen ajaksi hintaan 10€. Huomioithan että varusteita ja kokoja on vain rajallinen määrä, joten nopeat syövät hitaat. Soopa organizes a winter hike to Martimoaapa on February 16.-18. The trip is a skiing trip. Whether you are an experienced winter hiker or the first time on ski-hike, you are welcome to join! (Please note that cross country skiing skills are required and you have to know how to ski. The hike can be done on skis only.) The journey to Martimoaapa will be made by bus and the departure will be on friday 16th from the university at 4pm. The return takes place on Sunday afternoon/evening.
Martimoaapa is a flat swamp and forest area, where there are also higher places. The fastest skiers may have time to climb to the top of Keski-Penikka. We will sleep in tents, but there are also several huts in the are, which could be used. A weekend trio is a good opportunity to try hiking in winter, for examole fot longer Kaamos- and Easterhikes.
The hike is carried out in smaller groups, so that each group also includes more experienced hikers. The groups decide their own route. Soopa provides tents and a shovel to each group. The hike will be done with skis, which means you need forestskis and boots.
The price of the hike is 30€ and in addition each participant must be a member of Soopa and pay the 2024 membership fee (if not already paid this year). Participants can rent skis, poles and boots from Soopa for the hike for 10€. Please note that there is only a limited number od equipment and sizes, so be quick.
